These are photos of the high water, wind & rain this morning as I went to buy the chicken for dinner.
Foolishly I set out in my short wellies. My next door neighbour said they would be no good. She was right. After four steps they were full of water & my leggings soaked. Back home to change leggings & put on knee high wellies.
I got back, soaked once more & changed clothes again. I had just put a coloured wash on, then was putting the oven on to roast the veg & chicken pieces. then dry my hair & now the dishwasher is on. It's so awkward only being able to use one electrical appliance at once. I have ironing but can't do that till dishwasher finishes.
But back to the water. The Giudecca canal was amazingly rough & great waves of water came onto the fondamenta when a boat had gone past. But of course life goes on. The rubbish was collected & here is bread being delivered. You don't appreciate how easy it is just going to Tesco! LOL!
But this is why I am here in Venice between January & March. I love this amazing, wild weather. Just get dressed appropriately & get on with it.
