Saturday Joyce and I joined the Circolo on a day trip to Udine.  It was an early start by train, almost two hours.  We began with a tour of the Veronese - Tiepolo exhibition in the Castello.  We had a guide who explained in great detail about the similarities and differences of the two working two hundred years apart.

View of the Dolomitti
The air was crisp being on the edge of the mountains, sitting in the sun one side of me was warm and the shaded side cool.

The lions of Venetian Empire, we are still in that area.
The sky was so blue

We also visited a small chapel and a church with ceilings covered by Tiepolo frescoes.  Even the service book featured a Tiepolo painting!
